13/05/07 Watford 1 NUFC 1 Goal for Dyer before Nicky Butt handled the ball in the area & we concede a penalty. Owen gets concussed, and N'Zogbia stormed off before kick-off in a huff. So a comedy of errors as we finish with our lowest ever points tally of 43, & equal our lowest ever final placing at 13th, only 5 points clear of relegation. Sam Allardyce rumours abound as do Owen exit rumours, but we are just thankful for an end to another calamitous season. Click Here to share your thoughts on the match/season.

06/05/07 Roeder "Quits" - With one match remaining till the end of the season, Glenn Roeder has "resigned" as Manager of Newcastle United, leaving his successor with a full pre-season to prepare. We wish him well as we await news of our new Manager. Click Here to share your thoughts.

.

05/05/07 NUFC 0 Blackburn 2 A new strip but a lame performance as we obviously had nothing to play for and the visitors dominated throughout. We lacked any real urgency and after a good early save from Friedel to push Dyer's header over, Parker tamely shot at Friedel and Owen blazed over from 12 yards, but it was mostly all Rovers. Plenty must happen at St James' Park this summer to avoid another season of abject failure. Click Here to share your thoughts on the match!

30/04/07 Reading 1 NUFC 0. Otherwise known as the return of the Michael Owen show; he had the ball in the net inside 7 mins but his effort was ruled out for offside, and after that the game drifted past the rusty striker. But we missed 2 good chances to level when Ameobi and Martins both bungled free headers. Click Here to share your thoughts on the match.

.

22/04/07 NUFC 0 Chelsea 0 We were good value for the point after limiting the Blues to only one effort on target 10 mins from time. Dyer hooked the ball wide under pressure, while a deflected Martins strike missed the target & a promising position for Carr came to nothing after he cut in from the left. Martins headed over from a Milner cross & substitute Andy Carroll blasted across the face of goal in injury-time. Click Here to share your thoughts on the match! Cheers to all who joined us at LSB for the LIVE match!

14/04/07 Portsmouth 2 NUFC 1 Oba Martins twice went close for NUFC, one header cleared off the line & another crashing off the bar. We even had a late chance to level as David James saved from Martins, but in truth we did not deserve a draw for our disappointing display. We drop to 11th. Click Here to share your thoughts on the match!

.

09/04/07 NUFC 0 Arsenal 0 The closest we came to scoring was Milner's looping cross which cannoned back off the bar with Lehmann beaten. Arsenal were there for the taking for most of the match, but almost snatched a win when Silva had 2 successive efforts cleared off the line by Nobby Solano. A concern for us now is the groin injury to Shay Given, which forced him off after 25 mins. Click Here to share your thoughts on the match! Cheers to all who joined us at LSB for the LIVE match!
.

07/04/07 Sheffield Utd 1 NUFC 2 Steven Taylor scored a late winner to put us 10th on 40 points. The defender was first to Milner's curling right-wing corner and powered in a header from 8 yards. We were the better side & took the lead through Oba Martins who fired in a low volley from Milner's lay-off early in the 1st half. The Blades equalised with a close-range effort, before Taylor's late strike. HTL! Click Here to share your thoughts on the match!

.

31/03/07 NUFC 0 - MCFC 1 Glenn Roeder's side began well enough with Dyer and Duff looking lively and Obafemi Martins posing problems to the City defence. But despite dominating possession we only started to create decent chances in the final 5mins of an uninspiring match.Taylor was unlucky to see a header come crashing back off the bar and Stephen Carr fired narrowly wide after a goalmouth scramble. We remain in 11th on 37 points. Click Here to share your thoughts on the match!
.

18/03/07 Charlton 2 NUFC 0 A dissjointed Toon performance ended as a shambolic defeat away to the EPL's 3rd lowest team. We never really tested their keeper, with nothing offered by our attack or midfield, and our defence unable to defend as usual. Cheers to all who joined us at LSB for the LIVE match!

.

15/03/07 AZ Alkmaar 2 NUFC 0 We were dumped out of the Uefa Cup, outclassed and outplayed by AZ Alkmaar. We held a 4-2 first-leg lead but quickly saw our advantage reduced when Arveladze slotted in. Dyer slid a shot across goal for Newcastle and paid the price for the miss when Koevermans headed in a corner to put the Dutch side 2-0 up. Martins missed a one-on-one and Parker had a goal disallowed as we went out on away goals.
.

03/03/07 NUFC 0 Boro 0 A dissappointing result after we had been the better team for most of the match, Boro very rarely threatening Shay Given's goal. But our own inability to really test Schwarzer ensured a goalless bore draw. Cheers to all who joined us at LSB for the LIVE match, Boro fans and all!

.

25/02/07 Wigan 1 NUFC 0 Nobby Solano's saved penalty proved decisive as just before half time Ryan Taylor whipped a free-kick past Shay Given to score for Wigan. NUFC had the better of the game before the penalty but after going behind we struggled in attack, blatantly missing Kieron Dyer's presence. Cheers to all who joined us for the gathering at LSB for the LIVE match! HTL!
.

22/02/07 NUFC 1 Zulte-Waregem 0 Striker Obafemi Martins' 68th-minute goal sealed victory for NUFC,as we go through to the last 16 with a 4-1 aggregate score, and will now face AZ Alkmaar in the next round. Howay-The-Lads!

.

15/02/07 Zulte-Waregem 1 NUFC 3 We now have a great chance of making the last 16 of UEFA Cup with a comfortable win in Belgium. Dindeleux scored the 1st of 4 second-half goals when he put Dyer's cross into his own net. Martins made it 2 from the penalty spot after Duff was fouled before D'Haene pulled one back with a flicked header. Sibierski secured victory for NUFC with a fine individual goal! HTL!
.

10/02/07 NUFC 2 Liverpool 1 We came from behind to beat Liverpool in a memorable game in awful conditions. Steviee Harper's poor clearance was seized upon by 'Pool, as ex-mag Bellamy scored against us. Pepe Reina then misjudged a clearance which was pounced on by Obafemi Martins, who side footed in with style. We then snatched victory when Nolberto Solano scored with a penalty after Steven Taylor was fouled. We move into 9th! Great gathering at LSB for the LIVE match! HTL!

.

03/02/07 Fulham 2 NUFC 1 We got what we deserved after a subdued performance at Craven Cottage. The first half was a non-event as both sides cancelled each other out in a scrappy midfield battle. Clear-cut chances were at a premium, & despite an impressive debut in defence for new boy Oguchi Onyewu, we fell behind to two Fulham strikes on 49 & 73 mins, before Oba grabbed a consolation goal for us on 90 mins.

.

31/01/2007 NUFC 3 Aston Villa 1 James Milner struck from 18 yards after 5 mins - and then turned provider for Kieron Dyer to head home our 2nd two mins later. Villa pulled a goal back after 25 mins when we failed to clear a corner. Villa then huffed and puffed, but Antoine Sibierski hammered in our 3rd in injury time, to move us up into 9th place! Howay The Lads!

.

NUFC 2 West Ham United 2 Newcastle came from behind to save themselves from the brink of disaster to snatch a 2-2 draw against battling West Ham.

James Milner's 45th-minute strike - his third in as many games at St James' Park - dragged the Magpies back into it and Nolberto Solano's 53rd-minute penalty set the scene for a much improved second-half display which might have brought victory but for the woodwork and the heroics of keeper Roy Carroll.

Martins should have laid on a third goal for Dyer four minutes later after skipping past Davenport, but drilled his cross in behind the England international.

.

17/01/2007  NUFC 1 Birmingham 5 At the half-time mark, Newcastle found themselves 2 goals down Gary McSheffrey's fifth-minute strike and a Nolberto Solano own goal gave Birmingham the advantage

Glenn Roeder's men briefly gave themselves a lifeline on 56 minutes when Milner drilled home a 25-yard shot, only for defender Steven Taylor to depart within a minute for a professional foul on DJ Campbell.

.

Spurs 2 NUFC 3 Obafemi Martins scored a stunning goal as he inspired us to come from behind and win impressively at Spurs. He hit a 20-yard shot to make it 2-2 and then played in Nicky Butt - booked for a half-time bust-up with Pascal Chimbonda - to slot in the winner. Spurs had taken the lead after a host of Shay Given saves, Defoe converting Malbranque's pass. Paul Huntington equalised by rifling in and Berbatov volleyed home for Spurs before Martins and Butt struck.. Howay The Lads!

.

06/01/07 Birmingham 2 NUFC 2 A late equaliser earned 10-man Birmingham a replay. DJ Campbell gave them an early lead from Larsson's corner, but Steven Taylor turned in James Milner's corner five minutes before the interval. Birmingham's Radhi Jaidi was sent off after 43 minutes for hauling down Obefami Martins as he raced clear. Kieron Dyer then punished Matthew Upson's error to put us ahead after 54 minutes, but Larsson levelled on the turn four minutes from time. So, a replay to be held at St James Park.

.

NUFC 2 MUFC 2 A second-half strike from David Edgar denied Manchester United victory in a thrilling match. We took a surprise lead when James Milner fired in a stunning shot high into Edwin van der Sar's goal. The visitors bounced back when Scholes rifled in a brilliant 20-yard shot before he scored a second from a similar distance. But 19-year-old defender Edgar grabbed a point for Newcastle with a 25-yard drive that deflected in off Scholes. HTL!

.

29/12/06 Everton 3 NUFC 0 Just before the break, Obafemi Martins missed a penalty after Kieron Dyer was fouled by Leon Osman. We went in at halftime 1-0 down, and soon after conceded another at the start of the 2nd half. Martins had another chance to get us back into the match but his attempted header on goal was thwarted by his own team-mate Steven Taylor.

.

26/12/06 Bolton 2 NUFC 1 Kieron Dyer drove in an angled shot to put the us into a deserved lead. But a mix-up in defence saw Peter Ramage, after being pushed illegally by Nolan, head past keeper Pavel Srnicek and into his own net and gift Bolton an unlikely lifeline. The home side then took control of the game and Anelka slotted in at the far post to secure victory. Meanwhile Edgar made his first team debut at fullback.

.

23/12/06 NUFC 3 Spurs 1 We scored three 1st-half goals to earn victory over Tottenham. Kieron Dyer brilliantly opened the scoring from 20 yards before Parker crossed for Martins to head home. Danny Murphy was fortunate to reduce the deficit when his mis-hit shot went in via Steven Taylor, before Scott Parker struck! Paul Robinson saved from Milner, Taylor & Martins but could not stop Parker's close-range header. We have now won 3 of our last 4 Premiership games & continue to climb the table. HTL!

.

20/12/06 NUFC 0 Chelsea 1 We exited the Carling Cup in this quarter-final tie, succumbing to a late Drogba free-kick (which had been discretley moved 3 yards from the place of the foul). We had earlier gone close to taking the lead when an Obafemi Martins drive hit the underside of the bar and bounced down on to the line before being cleared.

.

17/12/06 NUFC 2 Watford 1 Two second-half goals by Obafemi Martins made it four wins in five Premiership games for NUFC and left Watford bottom of the table. Martins nodded us ahead (49mins) before Watford levelled (57mins). Then with 5 mins remaining Mariappa deflected Damien Duff's cross to Martins to thump home and give us all 3 points! We now sit in 12th place on 22 points, 8 points clear of the bottom 3. HTL!

.

13/12/06 Chelsea 1 NUFC 0 Sibierski almost shocked Chelsea after 15 mins when he rose highest to meet Milner's corner, but headed against the bar. Then 10 mins before half-time Rossi was narrowly off target with a left-foot snap shot. But our plans were disrupted again just before the interval when N'Zogbia fell awkwardly and was stretchered off with a knee injury, to be replaced by Matty Pattison. We held out with a valiant effort, only for Drogba to score from a scuffed Shevchenko shot on 74mins.

.

09/12/06 Blackburn 1 NUFC 3 Oba Martins scored twice to help us beat Blackburn at Ewood Park & move up to 14th, & 5 points clear of the relegation zone!. We struck 1st courtesy of a stunning 18-yard strike from Oba. Taylor doubled the lead, poking in from 6 yards, before Henchoz was sent off for pulling down Martins. Pedersen made it 2-1 with a 25-yard effort, before Martins broke away from 40 yards to score his 2nd. HTL!

.

06/12/06 NUFC 3 Reading 2  Emre's sensational 20-yard strike gave us a crucial win at the expense of Reading. We took the lead when Sibierski headed in Solano's cross, before Reading equalised .Reading scored a 2nd from the edge of the area after Shay Given parried a fierce effort. Obafemi Martins levelled from the spot after Ibrahima Sonko's foul on him before Emre's stunner raised the roof. We now sit in 15th place on 16 points, 2 clear of the bottom 3 teams. HTL!

.

30/11/06 Eintracht Frankfurt 0 NUFC 0 We sealed the point we needed to finish top of Group H after holding on for a hard-fought Uefa Cup draw at Eintracht Frankfurt. Withstanding a relentless onslaught, we were grateful to keeper Shay Given for some superb saves. Charles N'Zogbia, Belozoglu Emre and Antonie Sibierski had our best chances in a fine rearguard display. We now avoid the champions league drop-outs in the next round. HTL!

.

26/11/06 NUFC 1 Portsmouth 0 Sibierski's 69th minute goal saw off Portsmouth to end our run of 9 Premiership games without a win. We were on top from the start & were unfortunate to see Oba Martins' first-half goal ruled out for a marginal offside decision. The Toon saw several chances go astray before Charles N'Zogbia crossed for substitute Sibierski to slot home. Portsmouth offered little going forward and only some fine saves from David James stopped us from adding 3 or 4 more! Great gathering at LSB for the LIVE match! HTL!!

.       .

23/11/06 NUFC 2 Celta Vigo 1 Antoine Sibierski & Steven Taylor sparked a Toon fightback to reach the knockout stages of the UEFA Cup! Fabian Canobbio put the Spaniards ahead on the 9mins when he pounced on Taylor's headed clearance and curled home the opener. But Sibierski restored faith at St James' Park, heading in James Milner's superb cross 28mins later. Taylor then nodded in the winner 4mins from time to seal qualification as group leader with one game remaining. HTL!

.

17/11/06 Arsenal 1 NUFC 1 Kieron Dyer returned from a 7-month absence to score the goal which gave all Toon Army hope (& seriously dents Arsenal's title hopes). The midfielder put us ahead in the 1st half when he collected Oba Martins' flick-on & curled a shot into the corner. We then repelled waves of attacks before substitute Thierry Henry curled in a free-kick. Given then continued to make truly amazing saves as we held on for the draw & moved up & out of the relegation zone. Howay-The-Lads!

.

11/11/06 Man City 0 NUFC 0 We ground out a goalless draw that did us no favours. Sub Kieron Dyer had a shot blocked at the death, and then Nolberto Solano's 20-yard drive was deflected just wide by Sibierski, as a forgetable 90 minutes ended with a frantic final 3 minutes of injury time as we suddenly came to life but couldn't quite conjure or convert any decent chances. Cheers to all who joined us for the gathering at Lot Stock and Barrel. Great to see one and all. HTL!

.

07/11/06 Watford 2 NUFC 2 (aet: 4-5)  Stevie Harper eased the pressure on boss Roeder with a crucial save in a Carling Cup penalty shoot-out win at Watford. Harper saved from Jordan Stewart after a thrilling 2-2 extra-time draw. Sibierski headed us ahead from Emre's free-kick but Watford drew level when Damien Francis slid the ball in from Ashley Young's free-kick. Danny Shittu's extra-time header put the Hornets 2-1 up but Scott Parker's calm finish forced penalties.

.

04/11/06 NUFC 0 Sheffield Utd 1 The "worst performance yet" according to Roeder, & 50,000 Geordies agreed as our team is booed off for failing to get a single shot on the Blades goal, while Titus Bramble gifted Sheffield their only away goal of the season to date, and we drop below them into the bottom three / relegation zone. How now Mr Shepherd?

.

02/11/06 Palermo 0  NUFC 1  Albert Luque scored the only goal of the game to give us a memorable win over Palermo and send us to the top of Group H in the Uefa CupThe £9.5m signing was on hand to nod in James Milner's whipped cross from the left just before the interval. Milner could have added to the tally but saw one shot go wide and another saved by Alberto Fontana.  Debutant keeper Tim Krul, 18, made great reaction saves from Palermo's Giuseppe Biava and David Di Michele for an incredible full debut! Howay-the-Lads

.       . .

28/10/06 NUFC 0 Charlton 0 Newcastle once again squandered a host of chances as Charlton left Tyneside with a goalless draw. Giuseppe Rossi hit the bar before the break and Damien Duff twice saw shots saved by Scott Carson. Scott Parker went close with a dipping 10th-minute volley.Carson got down well to block a driven Charles N'Zogbia effort and Duff was furious not to win a 28th-minute penalty after Souleymane Diawara appeared to clip his heels. Rossi curled a 79th-minute free-kick inches over. Match ends in a goaless draw , a point each

.

26/10/06 NUFC 3 Pompey 0 On-loan Italian Starlet Giuseppe Rossi, bagged his first goal for NUFC with a fine strike, whizzing the ball past the goalkeeper. Nobby then added the second on the scoreboard on the 53rd minute by glancing in a header. The match also saw an emotional and long awaited comeback for Kieron Dyer. He replaced Butt in the 60th minute and straightaway impressed the crowd with his astounding pace. Nobby finished off the game with his second goal with just seconds away from the final whistle. An impressive display from the players! HTL!

.       .

. 22/10/06 Smoggies 1 NUFC 2 Aiyegbeni Yakubu sank the Magpies with a late headed goal to give the tee-siders a one nil victory. Both Duff and Milner were constantly putting pressure on the opponents defence only to see our opportunities go squandered in front of goal. Obafemi Martins came the closest to score for us when his shot saw the ball glanced off the crossbar in the first half.

.   .   .

9/10/06 NUFC 1 Fenerbahce 0 The Magpies put their unlucky defeat against Bolton aside to come up with an impressive one nil win over Turkish big guns Fenerbahce. In a tightly contested match where both teams had equal chances on goal, Frenchman Antoine Sibierski added his European goal tally to two by comfortably slotting the ball home after Taylor’s initial shot was parried off by the goalkeeper. Toon loyalist Harper played full 90 mins of the match even though pre-match reports had stated that young Dutch sensation Tim Krul, might be given his debut for NUFC.

.

15/10/2006 NUFC 1 Bolton 2 We lost our lead for the third consecutive time at home due to poor defending in the 2nd half. Shola Ameobi first put us ahead with the first goal from a well taken penalty when Faye handed the ball in the penalty area. Young Ramage almost came close to extend our lead when his shot from close range when over the bar.

.

1/10/06 Man Utd 2 NUFC 0 The lads didn’t really got going in this match Ameobi started as the only striker upfront in a 4-5-1 formation with Martins rested on the bench. Baby face assassin Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stole the show, by scoring 2 goals from 2 unanticipated positions pass on-form Magpie goalie Steve Harper. Our best chance of the game came when young Peter Ramage almost scored from a distance when his dipping shot was parried off by the goalkeeper. Emre suffered a twisted an le near the end of the match but should be fit for our next game against Bolton at St James’s Park. Also, A good turn out at LSB for a Sunday live game! H-T-L!

.

29/09/2006 NUFC 2 Tallin 1 (Aggregate NUFC thru 3-1) Newcastle striker Obafemi Martins paid a sizeable chunk off his £10million transfer fee to fire his side into the UEFA Cup group stage. The 21-year-old headed home a 47th-minute Emre corner to claim his first goal at St James' Park, and then added a second three minutes later with a superb strike to see off Levadia Tallinn.

.

24/9/06 NUFC 1 Everton 1 Shola Ameobi opened the scoring for us in the 14th minute from an Emre’s freekick. The Magpies had plenty of chances on goal throughout the game but were unfortunate not to make those chances count. Also, A good turn out at LSB for a Sunday live game! H-T-L!

Meanwhile: NUFCSG 3 ArsenalSG 1 The Singapore Magpies recorded their 4th successive win against a resilient Arsenal Singapore team. Goals from Jake and Tim (2) were enough to secure us a 3 – 1 victory. Well done to all and a big thank you to Arsenal Singapore Fan Club for accepting our friendly invitation.

.

21/9/06 Liverpool 2 NUFC 0 Steve Harper was the only change made in the eleven men squad whom faced West Ham during mid-week, as Given continues his recuperation from an abdomen injury. The match itself saw four penalty claims denied by the official, out of which, 3 appeals made were ours. Shola Ameobi got the first shout of penalty when he was brought down in the box, only to be waved offside by the referee even though the linesman’s flag stayed down.

The second call for penalty came when Ameobi’s shot was palmed away by Jamie Carragher. Subsequently, our third call for a penalty was turned down within seconds later when Carragher handled the ball again from a closer range shot..

.

17/9/06 WHU 0 NUFC 2 Glenn Roeder returned to Upton Park a happy man after seeing us beaten his former side two goals to nothing. The Magpies continue to cruise their way up the league table with a hugely deserved away win, with Martins created a goal, and scored the other in the second half. Our first goal came when Martins laid the ball to the left for Damien Duff, who struck a thunderous left foot shot pass the goalkeeper to register his first goal for NUFC.

The Nigerian international then added the 2nd goal to the scoreboard and his first for NUFC, as he calmly slot the ball into the net, having broken away free from a confused Hammers defence. Howay the Lads!

.

14/9/06 Tallinn 0 NUFC 1 Antoine Sibierski sealed the match with the only goal from an impressive header through a Duff's free-kick in front of thousands of traveling & Tallinn-based NUFC supporters. The Frenchman, who capped his debut performance, was a replacement for Shola Ameobi.

.

9/9/06 NUFC 1 FULHAM 2 We succumbed to our 2nd defeat of the season having conceded two late goals from defensive lapses. Magpies captain marvel, Scott Parker first put us ahead by glancing in a header from an Emre’s cross in the 54th min. On-loan Italian starlet, Giuseppe Rossi also made his black and white debut.

.

27/08/06 Villa 2 NUFC 0 Defensive mistakes saw us concede 2 in the 1st half, & we then had to play with 10 men after Martins went off with a heavy dead leg. Transfer window remains open for now, & efforts continue to bring in 2 more players. Great turn out at LSB for the LIVE match, HTL!

Meanwhile: NUFC-SG 2- Recco's Wanderers 1 Keegan & Jason (penalty) put us 2-0 in the 1st half, whilst we conceded a goal in the 2nd, it was enough to record our 3rd successive win. Great debut by Man of the Match & new member - Imran. Well done to all!

.

24/08/06 NUFC 0 FK Ventspils 0. We go into the 1st round draw of the UEFA Cup after dominating this qualifying 2nd leg, but were unable to convert many goal chances. We now have a 12-game unbeaten run in all competitions. .

19/08/06 NUFC 2 Wigan 1. Shola Ameobi's 2nd-half strike was enough to give us all 3 points on the opening day of the season at a rain-drenched St James' Park. We took the lead through Scott Parker, who got the final touch after good work from Ameobi on the left. Wigan hit back after the break when McCulloch curled in from 8 yards. But Ameobi denied the visitors a draw after pouncing on Chris Kirkland's parry from Charles N'Zogbia's shot, to ensure a winning start for NUFC. Howay The Lads!

.

10/08/06 FK Ventspils 0 NUFC 1 Titus Bramble scored as we took control of our Uefa Cup 2nd qualifying rnd tie with a 1st-leg win at Latvian side FK Ventspils. Bramble climbed above the Ventspils defence to head home Emre's corner 20 mins from time. An Emre shot almost deflected into the Ventspils net, while Duff, Ameobi & Parker went close.Ventspils had several chances of their own, with Given brilliantly saving to deny Igors Slesarcuks. Return leg: 24 August at SJP. HTL!

.

05/08/06 NUFC 3 Villareal 3 Nicky Butt took the M.o.M. award with two 2nd half goals to force the draw after happless defensive displays by both teams. Villareal looked more potent, with Forlan up front & Pires outwide. Ameobi had made it 1-1 on 22 mins, before we conceded 2 more, & then following substitutions, Butt rose twice to head home from consecutive Milner corners on 79 & 81 mins, to earn us the draw, as the hunt for more striking power continues. HTL!

.

29/07/06 NUFC 2 PSV Eindhoven 3 We were 0-3 down due to defensive lapses before Ameobi then Luque (penalty) got us back into it. Highlights were a debut for Damien Duff, showing some excellent glimpses of what to expect when he is fully match fit, along with a subs appearance by our young Dutch keeper Tim Krul, & a last minute effort by Luque. The lack of a real goalscorer up front was patently obvious however, with more signings mooted.

26/07/06 Norwich 1 NUFC 2 We tune up for the new season with a comfortable victory in this testimonial match/pre-season friendly at Carrow Road. NUFC, wearing the new away strip for the 1st time, took the lead through Peter Ramage, after he pounced on a loose ball following Nolberto Solano's right-wing cross. After the break it was two when Charles N'Zogbia fired home from 15 yards. HTL!

24/07/06 Roeder's first signing: Damien Duff signs for £5m, on a 5 year contract! The Irish international joins from Chelsea and is all set to make his debut in the pre-season friendly versus PSV Eindhoven. HOWAY-THE-LADS!

.

23/07/06 NUFC.sg 8 Hengs Team 1 The NUFC Singapore team stormed to an 8-1 victory in our first friendly of the season at Marina South! Goals were: Keegan 3, Khairul 2, Tim 2, Jake 1. A great performance by the whole team, & a solid debut for our own Ridzuan also. Special thanks to Jason for organising the match. (Click the pic to enlarge)

.

22/07/06 Lillestrom 0 NUFC 3 We stormed into the 2nd qualifying round of the Uefa Cup after beating Lillestrom in the Intertoto Cup 2nd leg tie in Norway. Shola Ameobi gave us the lead when he sidefooted in after N'Zogbia's free-kick was parried. That gave us a 2-1 lead on aggregate and Shola extended that further when he slotted in at the far post after a Scott Parker cross. Emre completed the win when he found the top corner with a 20-yard strike on 90 mins. UEFA CUP here we come! HTL!!

15/07/06 NUFC 1 Lillestrom 1 Our new season kicked-off with the Inter-Toto Cup Third Round tie, & we avoided embarrassment at the hands of Norwegian side Lillestrom thanks to Albert Luque's equaliser, curling in an exquisite equaliser in the 2nd half, after going in at half-time a goal down. With no friendlies under our belts & no new signings, plus our lack of strikers, this was always going to be a tall order. The 2nd leg, away on Saturday 22nd July provides us with a chance of UEFA qualification, by which time we hope a more potent NUFC take to the pitch. Howay-The-Lads!
